I first encountered the book “Winnebago Stories” by Oliver LaMere Interpreter, and Winnebago Tribal Councilman, as a middle school student through genealogical research. As an adult I returned to this text as something which influenced my perspective growing up. Seeking guidance, seeking protection, this happening engages with ritualistic practice known and unknown to the Western general populous.

Echo of Footfall

Over 60 soil samples were collected across the country in which identity is formed by place. These samples are compressed by hand to form polished spheres evoking the geologic process of time and pressure.
